Aug. Schatz & Sohne; c1954 Dated 7-55 Plate # 1013 pp 75
Description; A step back in time, a clock sent home by a loving son to his parents. While I don't know who John M. Zelenak Jr. was, we clearly are looking at a story that was told many, many times after WW II - a PFC sending home one of the wonderful Anniversary clocks that were made in Germany. With an Army - Air Force postal service stamp dated 15 November, 1955, the addresses on the outside of the wooden box, all the literature that came with the clock, its key and spare suspension spring, and of course the beautiful, fairly rare, miniature Schatz (with two jewels) Anniversary, this is truly a rare find. I can only hope that whoever buys this piece feels the same bit of wonder that I felt as I shot these photos.
